CUSTOMER GUIDE
How to find the right business for what you need
Start with what you need and where you need it. Open a matching business card, check its offerings and contact the business to confirm the details.
Describe the thing you need
A product or service is often more useful than a broad business name. Try “bouquet”, “phone screen repair” or “tailoring”. Add a meaningful detail if it changes the choice, such as a room type or the kind of repair. These are search examples, not a claim that a matching business is listed.
- Looking for a product: use its name, brand or a useful specification.
- Looking for help: name the job, such as furniture repair or cake delivery.
- Looking for a particular business: use its trading name.
Check the selected location
For a nearby visit or a home service, choose the area where you need the business. Use current location only when you want to search around your device. You can choose a location manually if permission is refused or unavailable.
A recognised destination in a query can change the search area. Check the location shown with the results. If a place is not recognised, choose the location manually rather than assuming the app understood it.
Open the card and compare the details
The discovery card is a quick introduction. Open it to see the business description, offerings, contact details and any customer reviews. Search within the offering list when you need a specific item.
- Check whether the business serves your location or expects a customer visit.
- Read the offering details and any stated limitations.
- Confirm stock, dates, price and travel before making arrangements.
If you find no match
Try a shorter term, remove a filter or check your location. A missing result can mean the business has not listed on Askven, has not published its profile, or does not match your selected area. It does not mean that no such business exists.
Common questions
Can I search without sharing my current location?
Yes. Choose a search location manually. Your device location is requested only when you choose to use it.
Does a search result mean the item is in stock?
No. Read the availability information and contact the business to confirm stock or a service slot before you travel or order.
